Shop Unilever Products on Lazada to Feed 100,000 Malaysians

Shop Unilever Products on Lazada to Feed 100,000 Malaysians

Each product purchase will provide 5 meals to those who need it most.

Hi Malaysian!!!

In conjunction with World Food Day, Lazada and Unilever Malaysia are teaming up for Shop to Give on Super Brand Day happening this 17 October 2018. This partnership is a shared ambition to feed the underserved communities in need and raise public awareness on food security. Beginning at 12 am, for every Unilever product purchased on that day, 5 meals will be provided through The Lost Food Project, a non-profit organisation. Proceeds from Shop to Give will help provide supplies for volunteers to continue their work with The Lost Food Project throughout Malaysia and achieve the target of feeding 100,000 Malaysians.

Shop to Give on Super Brand Day

“This is the first time that Lazada is collaborating on a community outreach activity for Super Brand Day, and we are pleased to be working alongside Unilever and The Lost Food Project. Lazada is always looking for ways to empower the community through our platform. This initiative allows us to pair our reach to millions of Malaysians transacting daily to give back to the people that need it the most,” said Christophe Lejeune, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia.

“Many of us may not realise but approximately one third of global food production, is lost or wasted annually[1]. As Malaysia progressively moves towards a zero-waste lifestyle[2], this lost or excess food is a viable solution to feeding the less fortunate; and we at Lazada are aligned with this view as we also strive to incorporate more sustainable practices in our offices, as well as in the way we approach our business,” Lejeune elaborated.

Shoppers can purchase any item from the Unilever Flagship Store on LazMall to participate. Beginning 14 October, consumers can start collecting stackable vouchers, and add items to their cart ahead of Super Brand Day. Enjoy even more perks when you Shop to Give with:

24-hour Flash Sales across the Unilever Flagship Store
Mystery Vouchers to be discovered during the day
More than 500 Gifts With Purchase
       Exciting discounts

Unilever

“Created by Unilever, Shop to Give is a regional campaign designed to make a positive impact to the community we live in. The campaign will be activated across four countries in South East Asia on the same day with each country having its own purpose, also known as Selling with Purpose. In line with our Sustainable Living Plan, The Lost Food Project was identified as the NGO of choice as one of our key goals is to help more than a billion people to improve their health and wellbeing. Being able to feed the underserved communities in Malaysia and to know that they now have access to quality food enables us in building a brighter future for our community.”said Jay Go, Customer Development Director for Unilever Malaysia.
The Lost Food Project

The Lost Food Project is a volunteer-run food bank that rescues quality surplus food and produce that would otherwise end up in landfills and redistributes them to those in need. Surplus food is not waste; it is in date, edible food that is considered excess and therefore still fit for human consumption. It is the first food bank in Malaysia to have professional contracts with several supermarkets, manufacturers and a wholesale market, and has rescued hundreds of thousands of tons of surplus food each year. The rescued food is distributed to their charity partners, who use this food to provide nutritious meals for Malaysia’s most vulnerable people. They distribute 50,000 meals a month to over 40 charities, composting any donated food unfit for human consumption.

Penat sangat sampai tertidur.

Biar sekejap tetapi kerap

To Alisha and Alfeey, both of you have worked incredibly hard. Good luck! Abah and ibu, are proud of you.

Lagi satu, make sure anak-anak cukup tidur ye. Thanks for reading...

Dua minggu berturut-turut pulak tu. Kami tak de cuti-cuti Malaysia pun sebab Big boss kena kerja juga in between hari cuti tu. Bila dah cuti, anak-anak cepat lapar pulak. Kejap-kejap ke dapur cari makanan. Cik Ila rasa macam banyak pula masa berada di dapur.

Resepi donut lembut dan gebu yang senang
Aleena panggil kuit-kuit.

Hehehe.... Jadi nya, dah anak-anak tu suka donut.

  • 4 sudu besar susu tepung
  • 3 sudu besar butter ( nak guna marjerin pun boleh)
  • 3 sudu besar gula
  • 1 biji telur
  • 200 ml air suam
Cara nak buatnya pulak:
1. Rebus kentang dan lenyek kentang tu.

4. Tutup bekas adunan dan biar sampai 40 - 60 minit. Perap sehingga doh naik dua kali ganda.

Resepi donut lembut dan gebu yang senang
Naik lah wahai adunan.

5. Lepas perap doh, tumbuk perlahan doh untuk keluarkan angin. Best pulak masa ni main tumbuk-tumbuk. Tapi jangan terlajak tumbuk pulak ye.

7. Bila dah selesai, susun atas dulang dan biar doh donut tu naik lagi sekali ganda.

8. Lepas tu boleh gorang. Pastikan minyak panas dan goreng sehingga sedikit perang.

Macammana? Senang tak? Kalau Cik Ila boleh buat mesti korang pun boleh buat. Thanks for reading...

Win the sleepover of your dreams at the largest bookstore in Malaysia!

Airbnb, the world's leading community-driven hospitality company, is giving literary fans a “novel” opportunity to spend one night at BookXcess, the largest bookstore in Malaysia. For one night only, Airbnb will transform a space in BookXcess’ latest outlet at Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya, into an exclusive bedroom for a sleepover. For the first time, your bedtime will not be an issue, and you can fall asleep to the variety of literary adventures that awaits you.

Airbnb is transforming a space in BookXcess, Tamarind Square into an exclusive bedroom for a magical sleepover.
The newly opened BookXcess branch at Tamarind Square will be listed on Airbnb from September 29-30, offering one lucky winner and a guest the chance to stay at the bookstore for the weekend. The “Once Upon a Sleepover” contest aims to encourage a love of reading and the idea that books enable people to travel to a different world.

Book a Bookstore with Airbnb today
BookXcess has built a reputation for offering a wide selection of books at hugely discounted prices. The company’s primary aim is to encourage the joy of reading by making books available at affordable prices.

What is it like to run a bookstore that is home to half a million books? The winning pair will gain an immersive experience in bookstore management and be their own boss for a day. The host and the team will be giving an exclusive behind-the-scenes on how to run a bookstore. There, you can live out your dreams as you work the register, learn how to pick books for the store, and interact with customers. Also - hold on to your bookmarks - there will be a “Grab-&-Go” session where winners can take home as any books as they can ‘grab’ in two minutes! Do note the house rules though!

● No chewing on books unless you are a bookworm
● No loud music that might disturb others, have some “shelf”-awareness
● Do not attempt to stack the books into a fort. We have a bedroom for you.
● If you see any dragons, do not disturb them, it’s just your imagination.
● Do not judge a bookstore by its cover. As there will be no bathing facilities at BookXcess, there will be an Airbnb for the winners to freshen up.

Before bedtime, winners will be part of a late-night book club, hosted by BFM89.9's Umapagan Ampikaipakan, to discuss books that inspire travel the most. Following their overnight stay, winners will be the author of their own adventures where they write about the special hyper local Airbnb Experience they are going on.
Travelling is a great way to decompress and catch up on your favourite reads. Beyond just booking a home with a conducive reading space such as a living room, Airbnb enables travellers to pack light and borrow a book from their hosts’ bookshelves. With more than five million homes, travellers not only have a global library at their fingertips, but can also gain invaluable insights from connecting with their Airbnb hosts who can recommend local books and bookstores to explore.Siew Kum Hong, Regional Director of Airbnb, Asia Pacific.
“We are excited to partner with Airbnb on this exciting project. We always believe that reading can create an opportunity to inspire people to dream bigger and to travel through the books. Just like travelling, reading also takes people on a journey as the plot thickens. This event with Airbnb further strengthens the possibility for bibliophiles to live in their dream bookstores and libraries. We’re humbled to be the chosen store in Malaysia to give this unique experience to the lucky winner.” Andrew Yap, Founder of BookXcess.
